Howdy Folks,

I believe we have a great Darwin Speaker for this spring… but I’m keeping it secret until the details are finalized.  =-)

There has been a lot of discussion about moving the Darwin Speaker to the fall semester. The fall semester is generally less booked up, and it is a lovely time of year in Athens, too. So, we are taking nominations!  If you’d like to nominate a speaker, please send me their name and a paragraph or so about them. I’ll assemble the names for a vote (including the paragraph you write). The maximum number of nominations for one individual is two. Also, the speaker doesn’t have to be a biologist — writers, historians, and philosophers have been Darwin speakers in the past. Also, the speaker doesn’t have to be famous — less famous scientists are often more interactive.

Deadline for nominations: Feb. 19th. That gives you 3 weeks to write a paragraph.
