Change in day & time of grad student lunch for BMS EEB job candidate Peishu Li! Now Monday, 1-2:30 PM (right after Peishu Li's seminar)

It's wonderful that both BMS and BIOS are bringing exciting new job prospects to campus, but we hit a conflict in that both departments scheduled the grad student lunches at the same time. No change on the BIOS side. BMS is adjusting our itinerary to make it work.

Sorry for the late notice! Please spread the word. I also BCCed the BIOS grad student distribution list.

Hi all,

As many of you know, Biomedical Sciences has its first tenure-track EEB hire in many years, someone who will teach medical gross anatomy in the med school but do research in organismal evolutionary biology. They'll have their lab and office on the first floor of LSB and, although we don't mandate these things, almost certainly be part of the EEB grad program and OCEES. We hope you're as excited as we are!

Attached please find the CVs and seminar flyers. Although there is a Teams link, we're hoping that people will actually show up in-person for the seminars. Please invite your undergrad and graduate students. The seminars are in MEC 141. MEC is the Medical Education Center (MEC), which is formerly the Human Resources and Training Center (HRTC) and is located next to Heritage Hall on West Union.

Here's the lineup:
1. Peishu Li (ABD, University of Chicago) - Visit: Monday & Tuesday (March 25-26). Seminar: Monday, March 25th, noon, MEC 141; title: "Evolutionary biomechanics of mammalian feeding systems: from patterns to mechanisms"
2. Niki Ackermans, PhD (Assistant Professor, Alabama University) - Visit: Thursday & Friday (March 28-29). Seminar: Thursday, March 28th, noon, MEC 141; title: "Integrating evolutionary and biomedical neurodegeneration"
3. Elska Kaczmarek, PhD (Postdoc, Northern Arizona University) - Visit: Monday & Tuesday (April 1-2). Seminar: Thursday, March 28th, noon, MEC 141; title: "Origin and diversification of air breathing in vertebrates: an integrative approach"
