The CCSS Toolbox is now available. Go check it out! This supports the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics (CCSS-M). The Charles A. Dana Center at The University of Texas at Austin and education company Agile Mind, Inc., with support from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, are pleased to announce to launch of an online CCSS toolbox, available at www.ccsstoolbox.org< http://www.ccsstoolbox.org/ > or www.ccsstoolbox.com< http://www.ccsstoolbox.com/ >. The toolbox is freely available to support educators and learners as they implement the mathematics standards. The website includes information about the standards, a gallery of animations and simulations of key mathematics concepts central to the new standards for middle and high school mathematics, assessment tools and tasks, and other resources. The toolkit also encompasses samples of resources to help educators with varying roles within districts implement the standards, including: · Structured protocols for collaborative conversations; · Process documents for leaders and teachers to use to build a common understanding of the structure, vertical articulation, and alignment of the standards; and · Sample scope and sequence documents for Kindergarten - Algebra II. The Common Core State Standards for Mathematics and for English Language Arts arose from efforts to better prepare American students from Kindergarten through 12th grade for college and career. In order for this vision to become reality, educators need resources and processes to make this happen, and we at the Dana Center and Agile Mind are excited to be working in this arena. But we need your help! Would you complete a user survey (found under Resources for Implementation) to provide feedback on the site? And for more information, please contact Kathi Cook ( klcook at austin.utexas.edu <mailto: klcook at austin.utexas.edu >) or Brian Newsom ( bnewsom at austin.utexas.edu <mailto: bnewsom at austin.utexas.edu >). *********************************************************** -- Jerry P.
