HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHARLESTON WV
444 AM EDT SAT APR 4 2009

THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE SUNDAY NIGHT AS A COLD FRONT
APPROACHES AND MOVES ACROSS THE AREA. SOME OF THE STORMS MAY
CONTAIN GUSTY WINDS AND SMALL HAIL. COLDER AIR WILL MOVE IN BEHIND
THE FRONT ON MONDAY. BY MONDAY AFTERNOON...PRECIPITATION IS
EXPECTED TO CHANGE OVER TO SNOW. SNOW SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO
LINGER INTO WEDNESDAY...AND LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE.

...DISCUSSION...

HIGH PRESSURE BUILDING INTO THE REGION WILL CREATE MOSTLY SUNNY
SKIES AND WARMER TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE REGION TODAY. GUSTY WINDS
ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA OVERNIGHT WILL GRADUALLY DECREASE TODAY...
BUT WILL CONTINUE TO REMAIN ACROSS THE HIGHER TERRAIN. CLOUD COVER WILL
GRADUALLY INCREASE OVERNIGHT...AS A COLD FRONT APPROACHES THE REGION.

THIS FRONT WILL BRING MORE RAIN AND A CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS
SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY.

AFTER THE FRONT PASSES...MUCH COLDER AIR POURS IN ON MONDAY.
RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS ARE LIKELY IN THE LINGERING LOW LEVEL MOISTURE
MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT. SO A TASTE OF WINTER RETURNS
EARLY NEXT WEEK.

THE ENVIRONMENT IS EXPECTED TO DRY OUT ON WEDNESDAY.
