HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHARLESTON WV
421 AM EDT THU APR 29 2010

A SUMMER LIKE ENVIRONMENT COULD YIELD SOME HEAVY SHOWERS OR
THUNDERSTORMS DURING THE SATURDAY NIGHT THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT
TIME FRAME. STRONG RISES ON SMALL STREAMS ARE POSSIBLE.

...SYNOPSIS...

HIGH PRESSURE MOVES EAST OF THE AREA TODAY...ALLOWING FOR A
SIGNIFICANT WARM UP TO ENSUE...AND THEN CONTINUE AS WE APPROACH THE
WEEKEND. SUNSHINE TODAY WILL BE FILTERED ONLY BY HIGH THIN CLOUDS
AT TIMES...TAKING AWAY THE DEEP COBALT BLUE APPEARANCE OF THE SKY WE
SAW YESTERDAY.

AFTER AN AFTERNOON MORE TYPICAL OF SPRING...TONIGHT WILL NOT BE
ANYWHERE NEAR AS CHILLY AS THE PAST FEW...ALTHOUGH THE NORTHERN
MOUNTAIN VALLEYS WILL SEE UPPER 30S.

FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AFTERNOONS WILL FEEL MORE LIKE SUMMER...WITH AN
INCREASE IN MOISTURE ON SATURDAY ONLY ADDING TO THE SUMMER FEEL.

A COLD FRONT IS NOT TIMED TO PASS UNTIL SUNDAY NIGHT OR MONDAY.
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE A GOOD BET THIS WEEKEND...ESPECIALLY
SUNDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT. WITH SUMMER LIKE MOISTURE...ANY OF THOSE
SHOWERS COULD COME DOWN HEAVY.

HOPEFULLY...DRIER AIR REACHES US FOR TUESDAY.

...SHORT TERM IMPACTS /FRIDAY THROUGH SUNDAY/...

HEAVY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS THIS WEEKEND MAY PRODUCE PONDING
OF WATER ON ROADS...POOR DRAINAGE AND LOW LYING AREAS...AND MAKE
HYDROPLANING POSSIBLE WHERE WATER RUNS ACROSS ROADWAYS.

RAPIDLY MOVING WATER IN FAST-RISING STREAMS WILL ALSO BE
POSSIBLE...PARTICULARLY FROM REPETITIVE STORMS.

IN ADDITION...THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS COULD PRODUCE WIND
GUSTS CAPABLE OF TREE DAMAGE...POWER FLUCTUATIONS OR EVEN
OUTAGES...AND PERHAPS BLOCKING OF ROADS FROM DEBRIS.
