HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHARLESTON WV
359 AM EDT THU MAY 6 2010

THERE IS A SLIGHT CHANCE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FRIDAY NIGHT.
Maps, Graphics, Technical discussion: http://www.spc.noaa.gov/products/outlook/day2otlk.html
AS THE COOLER AIR BLOWS IN...GUSTY WINDS ARE EXPECTED SATURDAY
AFTERNOON AND SATURDAY EVENING. IF STRONGER WIND GUSTS BECOME
APPARENT...A WIND ADVISORY MAY BE POSTED.

A FROST OR A FREEZE IS POSSIBLE FOR DAWN ON MONDAY. SENSITIVE OUTDOOR
VEGETATION MAY BE DAMAGED OR KILLED IF LEFT UNCOVERED.

...SYNOPSIS...

A COLD FRONT...WITH LIMITED MOISTURE...MOVED THROUGH SOUTHEAST OHIO
AND NORTHEAST KENTUCKY DURING THE PREDAWN HOURS. IT SHOULD REACH
THE MOUNTAINOUS COUNTIES OF WEST VIRGINIA BY LATE MORNING. IT MAY
STILL PRODUCE A BRIEF SHOWER THIS MORNING...AS IT CRUISES THROUGH
WEST VIRGINIA.

THE PASSAGE OF THE FRONT...SHOULD SET THE STAGE FOR A PLEASANT
AFTERNOON...BY MOST FOLKS STANDARDS.

A PEACEFUL NIGHT IS FIGURED...AS DRY AIR LINGERS.

WARMER AIR RETURNS ON FRIDAY. IT MAY TRIGGER A FEW SHOWERS OR
THUNDERSTORMS IN OHIO...BUT MOST COUNTIES ARE EXPECTED TO
REMAIN DRY ON FRIDAY.

A STRONGER COLD FRONT SWEEPS THROUGH LATE FRIDAY NIGHT INTO
EARLY SATURDAY MORNING WITH SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS.

DRIER AND MUCH COOLER WEATHER WILL FOLLOW FOR MOTHERS DAY WEEKEND.
THERE COULD EVEN BE SOME FROST FOR SUNRISE ON MONDAY MORNING.

LOOKING WAY DOWN THE ROAD...A WARM FRONT MAY BRING WET WEATHER...
ALONG ABOUT TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY.
