HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHARLESTON WV
412 AM EST FRI DEC 5 2014

RAINS OF 1 TO 1.5 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE TODAY INTO SATURDAY MORNING.
DUE TO THE WET SOILS FROM RECENT RAINS...THIS ADDITIONAL RAIN WILL
LEAD TO SWOLLEN SMALL STREAMS.

HOWEVER...IF THESE RAINS BECOME HEAVIER FOR A BRIEF TIME LATE
TONIGHT OR SATURDAY MORNING...SOME VULNERABLE SMALL STREAMS COULD
OVERFLOW ON SATURDAY. IF THAT THREAT INCREASES...A FLOOD WATCH
WOULD BE POSTED FOR THE MOST VULNERABLE COUNTIES.

Athens OH 7-Day Forecast (updates 4-5 times daily): http://climate.athens.oh.us/Athens-7Day/
...DISCUSSION...

A WARM FRONT WILL SLOWLY MEANDER ITS WAY NORTHWARD ACROSS THE MIDDLE
OHIO RIVER VALLEY AND CENTRAL APPALACHIANS TODAY INTO TONIGHT. THIS
FRONT WILL BRING PERIODS OF RAIN ALONG WITH AN ABUNDANCE OF CLOUDS.
THE RAIN MAY BECOME HEAVIER AT TIMES LATE TONIGHT INTO SATURDAY
MORNING...JUST AHEAD OF A LOW PRESSURE WAVE ALONG THE FRONTAL
BOUNDARY. THERE COULD EVEN BE A FEW RUMBLES OF THUNDER. A FLOOD WATCH
COULD BE POSTED FOR THE MOST VULNERABLE COUNTIES...IF THE THREAT OF
MORE PERSISTENT HEAVY RAIN INCREASES. THE LOW PRESSURE PASSES DURING
THE DAYLIGHT HOURS ON SATURDAY. OUR WINDS WILL SHIFT INTO THE
NORTHWEST...CAUSING TEMPERATURES TO FALL DURING SATURDAY AFTERNOON.
THE LINGERING LIGHT RAIN AND DRIZZLE SHOULD END FROM NORTHWEST TO
SOUTHEAST DURING SATURDAY EVENING. FOR SUNDAY...HIGH PRESSURE MOVES
IN...ALONG WITH SOME MUCH NEEDED DRIER AIR. A MID AND UPPER LEVEL
DISTURBANCE MOVES SOUTHEAST FROM THE UPPER MIDWEST MONDAY...AND
COULD AFFECT OUR AREA MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY.
