...WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 8 PM EST MONDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CHARLESTON HAS ISSUED A WIND
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 8 PM EST MONDAY.

* WINDS...SOUTHWEST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH.
* TIMING...LATE MORNING INTO THE EVENING.
* IMPACTS...TREE LIMBS AND BRANCHES MAY BREAK...WHICH
  COULD FALL ON ROADWAYS OR CAUSE POWER DISRUPTIONS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WIND ADVISORY MEANS THAT WINDS OF 35 MPH OR GUSTS ABOVE 46 MPH
ARE EXPECTED. WINDS THIS STRONG CAN MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT...
ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES. USE EXTRA CAUTION. TARPS...
GARBAGE CANS...HOLIDAY DECORATIONS AND OTHER LIGHT WEIGHT OBJECTS
MAY BLOW AWAY. IT IS BEST TO TIGHTLY SECURE THESE ITEMS...OR BRING
THEM INSIDE. CONSTRUCTIONS SITES ARE ALSO VULNERABLE LOCATIONS.

...DISCUSSION...

DESPITE INCREASING CHANCES OF SHOWERS FROM SOUTH TO NORTH THIS
AFTERNOON...A WARM LATE NOVEMBER DAY IS STILL BEING STRESSED...
ESPECIALLY FOR THE WESTERN LOWLANDS. AN INCREASING SOUTHEAST WIND WILL
KEEP THE EASTERN SLOPES AND SOUTHERN MOUNTAINS COOLER. A STRONG WARM
FRONT ROLLS THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON FROM SOUTH TO NORTH. THIS FEATURE
BRINGS THAT INCREASING CHANCE OF RAIN. A COLD FRONT CROSSES WEST TO
EAST MONDAY...WITH RAIN SHOWERS AND MORE GUSTY WINDS. TUESDAY WILL BE
COOLER AND DRY BY AFTERNOON. ON WEDNESDAY...THE BULK OF A STORM WILL
LIKELY STAY TO OUR EAST... AFFECTING STATES ALONG THE EAST COAST.
HOWEVER...THE MOUNTAIN COUNTIES MAY STILL BE ON THE WESTERN FRINGE OF
THIS STORM. AS A RESULT...THERE IS A CHANCE OF SNOW OR RAIN THERE...
ON WEDNESDAY. IN THE WAKE OF THAT EAST COAST STORM...SEASONABLY COLD
AIR ARRIVES FOR THANKSGIVING AND FRIDAY...BUT NOTHING REAL UNUSUAL.
WEAKER DISTURBANCES FROM THE WEST AND NORTH...IN A FAST WIND FLOW
ABOVE THE GROUND...GIVE US A CHANCE OF SOME LIGHT SNOW AND RAIN
SHOWERS AROUND THANKSGIVING AND FRIDAY.
