HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHARLESTON WV
448 AM EST MON MAR 2 2015

DEPENDING ON THE TIMING OF PRECIPITATION TUESDAY MORNING...
SOME FREEZING RAIN MAY BE POSSIBLE.

SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL CAN BE EXPECTED TUESDAY AND TUESDAY NIGHT.
A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE ALONG A COLD FRONT SOUTH OF
THE AREA WEDNESDAY NIGHT. IF TEMPERATURES ARE WARM ENOUGH FOR
RAIN...FLOODING COULD BE A POSSIBILITY. IF TEMPERATURES ARE COLD
ENOUGH FOR SNOW...WINTER WEATHER HEADLINES MAY BE NEEDED.

Athens OH 7-Day Forecast (updates 4-5 times daily): http://climate.athens.oh.us/Athens-7Day/
...DISCUSSION...

HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS INTO THE AREA TODAY AMID MORE BELOW NORMAL
TEMPERATURES. A WARM FRONT WILL BRING RAIN TO THE FORECAST AREA
TUESDAY. THIS WILL QUICKLY BE FOLLOWED BY A COLD FRONT TUESDAY
NIGHT...PROVIDING EVEN MORE RAIN. THE FRONT WILL STALL JUST SOUTH OF
THE REGION AS A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM DEVELOPS AND MOVES ALONG THE FRONT
WEDNESDAY NIGHT. DEPENDING ON HOW FAR SOUTH THE COLD AIR MAKES IT...
PRECIPITATION WITH THIS LOW COULD BE EITHER RAIN OR SNOW...OR A
COMBINATION OF THE TWO. IF IT FALLS MAINLY AS RAIN...THERE IS A THREAT
OF FLOODING. IF IT FALLS MAINLY AS SNOW...A SIGNIFICANT WINTER STORM
IS POSSIBLE. MUCH COLDER AIR WILL MOVE IN BEHIND THE SYSTEM ON
THURSDAY...PROVIDING SOME SNOW SHOWERS. COLDER TEMPERATURES ARE
THEN EXPECTED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE WEEK.
