Hazardous weather is not expected at this time. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday. Locally heavy rain is expected ahead of and along the front Wednesday night into Thursday afternoon. Wind-blown leaves will clog drainages and aggravate ponding of water. The first freezing temperatures of the season are likely Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings. -- OVERVIEW AND SYNOPSIS -- HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER SYNOPSIS FOR THE MIDDLE OHIO VALLEY AND CENTRAL APPALACHIANS... Patchy fog in favored river valleys will dissipate by mid morning, with another warm day on tap. Clouds will gradually be increasing during the day however, out ahead of the next system. That next system will bring a soaking rain late Wednesday or Wednesday night through Thursday. A strong cold front associated with that system could bring a line of strong, heavy showers as it crosses Thursday. This is likely to happen late morning or early afternoon Thursday in Ohio and northeastern Kentucky. However, this is likely to take place later in the afternoon as one goes east across West Virginia and southwestern Virginia. Behind the front, plummeting temperatures, gusty winds and rain late Thursday and Thursday evening are likely to make a mess of trick or treat, especially east of the Ohio River. Wind-blown leaves will clog drainages and aggravate ponding of water on roads, as rainfall totals with this system could be in the two to three inch range. Temperatures will be low enough for snow across the highest ridges by Friday morning, before the precipitation ends up there. Strong, gusty winds will continue Thursday night into Friday, especially across the ridges. The first freeze of the season out across the lowlands is likely to come in three consecutive mornings Saturday, Sunday and Monday, amid much quieter weather.
