Administrative Senate works to ensure that there are opportunities for administrative professional development for OHIO employees.
The Employee Engagement committee is comprised of senators from various planning units as represented on the Senate and open to other administrative staff members.
Scope of Work
Short-term (now to 3 months)
- Recruit committee members from Administrative Senate and beyond.
Medium-term (3-6 months)
- Assess professional development needs of administrative employees.
- Survey administrative employees via OIT email lists on professional development needs and how they are met or not met.
- Analyze data gathered from assessment.
Long-term (6-18 months)
- Develop professional development plan for administrative staff in conjunction with Human Resources and planning units/departments. This plan should not duplicate but might overlap with professional development provided by Human Resources and individual planning units/departments.
Professional Development Committee
- Charge: The Employee Engagement Committee will collaborate with administrators, university partners, and the Ohio Staff Council of Higher Education (OSCHE) to promote personal, professional, and social connections and advocate for best practices, policies, and procedures related to the well-being, retention, and engagement of administrators.
- Membership: Any administrator may serve on the Employee Engagement Committee.
- Leadership: An Administrative Senator will chair the Employee Engagement Committee, which will select a Co-chair from among its members.
