Meet Temir Kalbaev – a first-year graduate student from the Kyrgyz Republic in Kyrgyzstan.
Temir holds a solid professional background with eight years of work experience at a human rights NGO, followed by extensive communications and public relations work at the United Nations and the European Union.
While leading external communications, media relations and corporate communications at the institutions listed above, he elaborated his understanding of cross-cutting areas of climate change, gender equality, digital transformation and political cooperation. Temir has played a key role in communicating about the Kyrgyz Republic and the European Union’s bilateral relations and development cooperation within the last two years on national and regional levels.
Temir currently pursues an M.A. in Communication and Development studies at Ohio University and focuses on combatting disinformation. Temir enjoys traveling, running, swimming and watching movies and is looking forward to making new friends at his new HOUme.
