Emily chose to attend Ohio University because of its beautiful campus and the college-town feel of Athens. She also liked how the Russ College is a smaller college within a large university.
Emily has used her time at OHIO to explore many industries and potential career paths. She has worked in multiple labs within the Chemical Engineering Department and completed three co-op terms, including ones with Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America and General Mills. She says taking time off of school to gain industry experience was the best decision of her college career.
Emily is involved in many organizations including the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Society of Women Engineers, Engineering Ambassadors, Tau Beta Pi (the engineering honor society), and the Robe Leadership Institute. This year, Emily is the president of the Tau Beta Pi-Ohio Delta chapter and is activity coordinator for the Engineering Ambassadors.
