Hometown:Friendship, Ohio
Expected Graduation:Spring 2019
Wesley is from Friendship, Ohio, a small town near the Ohio River. In high school, he experimented with software development by writing small programs to solve math equations – he was hooked – and knew he wanted to pursue a computer science degree.
He discussed the Russ College’s computer science program with many faculty members and decided to attend Ohio University. As alumni, Wesley’s parents happily supported his decision. He now encourages other students, including his younger sister, to attend OHIO.
In addition to being an Engineering Ambassador, Wesley is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). He has worked as a teaching assistant for many undergraduate computer science courses and completed three summer internships with Fluor BWXT in Piketon, Ohio, where he gained valuable hands-on experience developing real-world software solutions.
In his free time, Wesley rides four-wheelers, goes fishing and hiking, and hunts with his dog.
