Rose is a senior industrial and systems engineering student from Granville, Ohio. Her family ties to Ohio University, with several family members having attended before her, acquainted her with Athens over numerous visits prior to her college decision-making process. However, it was during a college tour that she found herself captivated by the scenic charm of the campus and the welcoming embrace of the university community. During the college tour, she solidified her choice of making OU her future home.
Rose participated in the organization Destination Imagination from preschool through her junior year in high school. Destination Imagination is a project-based, problem-solving program that utilizes STEAM solutions. This early exposure nurtured her interest in pursuing a career in engineering. Subsequently, she made the choice to specialize in industrial and systems engineering, driven by her growing fascination with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
In addition to her involvement with Engineering Ambassadors, Rose demonstrates her dedication to music by playing the tenor saxophonist to the renowned Marching 110. Furthermore, she holds leadership roles as the President of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) and as the President of Alpha Pi Mu, the esteemed Industrial Engineering Honors Society. She is currently also the coordinator director for the IISE Great Lakes Regional Conference which is going to be hosted at Ohio University in February of 2024.
Over the summer, Rose interned with the Air Force Civilian Service in their Premier College Internship Program (PCIP) at Eglin AFB, Florida. She got to use Model-Based Systems Engineering using Cameo Enterprise Architecture to develop a common interface model that will have a long-term impact on the Air Force. She had a wonderful time at this internship being able to attend meetings, tour different programs on the base, and go on a work trip to Salt Lake City, UT,
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with friends and hammocking on South Green.
