Nicholas Cannady currently serves as a Student Success Advisor for the College of Fine Arts. He previously held an Academic Advising position at Valdosta State University in Valdosta, GA. He is very passionate about student success and advising, with the practice of appreciative advising. 

Nicholas is a product of the Ohio University School of Music, receiving his Masters in Music Composition where his mentor was Robert McClure. Nicholas also has a Masters in Sociology and Bachelors in Sociology and Anthropology from Valdosta State University. He is a composer who writes solos, chamber, wind ensemble, marching ensembles, and electroacoustic compositions. He is still actively composing and performing in ensembles. Nicholas is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America, Inc. (Zeta Gamma) and Alpha Kappa Delta National Sociology Honor Society (Zeta of Georgia).
