Chuck McWeeny

Charles McWeeny has exhibited his work in ceramic installation and sculpture nationally and internationally in over sixty group shows and twelve one person exhibitions, including such venues as Upper Arlington Art Center in Columbus Ohio in 1999, The NCECA Clay National at University of Nevada / Las Vegas in 1997 and Burg Gibiechenstein in Halle-Saale, Germany in 1995. In 1997, he created the installation Befragung der Raum (Questioning the Space) at the Kunst Museum in Magdeburg, Germany, and in 1995 his work was featured in the Fletcher Challenge Award International Exhibition in Auckland, New Zealand. He received an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Ohio Arts Council in 1997 and has been awarded nine purchase and juror's prizes for his work. He has lectured and conducted demonstrations at over twenty schools and conferences in the United States and abroad, most recently at University of Alaska/Anchorage, where he conducted a three-day workshop in April, 1999. He received his MFA from the University of Oklahoma and holds a BA from Cleveland State University and has taught at Ohio University since 1983.
