Ohio University Communications and Marketing’s latest “Clubs across Campus” video takes a look at a group on the Athens Campus with a lot of heart and some dance moves to boot.
BobcaThon is a yearlong fundraising effort that benefits the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio, an organization that provides families with children suffering serious illness a temporary home or place to rest as well as support in a location close to where their children are receiving medical care. Since its founding in 2014, BobcaThon, which includes Ohio University students, employees and alumni, has raised more than $133,000, with last year’s fundraising efforts yielding nearly $75,000.
BobcaThon members wrap up their efforts each spring semester by participating in a 12-hour dance marathon where they hear from families who have benefitted from Ronald McDonald House Charities while also celebrating the group’s fundraising success. This year’s BobcaThon dance marathon is scheduled for Feb. 17.
In this “Clubs across Campus” video , BobcaThon President Carolyn Appelhans shares more information about the group, why students enjoy participating in it, and how to get involved.
