Ohio University students will have a one-day hiatus from attending classes on Reading Day 2017, which is Tuesday, Oct. 10.
No classes or labs will be held, but campus and administrative offices will remain open. Tuesday will mark the fourth Reading Day since it was implemented in 2014.
The aim of Reading Day is to support students by providing them with an opportunity to prepare for upcoming examinations, projects and assessments. The idea to implement it came after faculty called attention to the academic fatigue students were experiencing during fall semester.
Future Reading Day dates will be communicated and incorporated into the academic calendar each year.
