iCUE Spotlight: March 22-28, 2018

We're racing to the end of Week 10 and the Spotlight publication schedule has changed. Since the Compass email is now distributed only on Thursdays, we're going to follow that publication schedule. But one thing never changes: There's tons happening around campus, and the OHIO CUE is the best way to help you keep track of it all. Remember, anyone with an OHIO ID can add events that are happening on all OHIO campuses. Read on for more information about what's happening in the week ahead:

9th Annual Meteorological Symposium  (Saturday, March 24, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Walter Hall 235); The weather has been crazy recently! If you're curious and want to know more about why it does what it does, this freeevent is for you. Presented by OHIO's student chapter of the American Meteorological Society, this annual event brings speakers from the National Weather Service, the Weather Channel, the Air Force and more to talk weather. Register today and attend to unleash your inner weather geek!

New Music Entrepreneurs: Building a Life and a Living in the Music Industry (Tuesday, March 27, 5-7 p.m., Baker University Center 240): The Center for Entrepreneurship presents a panel of four creative professionals in the music industry. The panel will be moderated by Josh Antonuccio, an OHIO faculty member and owner/producer of 3 Elliot Studio. The four panelists are: Bobby Booshay (Electronic DJ and musician), April Kulcsar (Artist/tour management), Tim Peacock (Executive Director of Stuart's Opera House/Producer of the Nelsonville Music Festival), and Angela Perley (Touring artist/lead singer of The Howlin' Moons"). OHIO Virtual Career Fair (Wednesday, March 28, 12-2 p.m., All Campuses and Centers): About to graduate? On the job hunt? This is your opportunity to chat one-on-one with recruiters hiring for full-time positions! All Ohio University students graduating Spring/Summer 2018 are strongly encouraged to register for the event - all participating employers will have open, full-time positions to fill immediately after graduation. Chats are virtual and text-based, so no camera (or professional dress!) is required.

Café Conversation: Tania Basta, An Honest Discussion about HIV: Combating Misconceptions (Wednesday, March 28, 5-6 p.m., Front Room Campus Coffeehouse): Join Tania Basta, professor of social and public health, as she discusses the misconceptions of HIV. She will discuss the factors fueling the rural epidemics of HIV/HCV in Appalachia, including the recent outbreaks in Appalachian West Virgina and Kentucky.
