TEDxOhioUniversity has announced that the inaugural TEDxOhioUniversity event has been postponed due to the global coronavirus outbreak.
The event was planned for March 23 in Ohio University’s Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium. The University is working to secure a new date as well as information regarding refunds for those who are registered to attend. Those details will be shared as soon as possible.
This decision was made in conjunction with measures implemented at Ohio University to reduce the public health risk to the community, including the suspension of in-person instruction until at least March 30 .
“Our amazing speakers and volunteers have been so working hard to make the first-ever TEDxOhioUniversity event special, and I know their commitment will remain strong during this unexpected turn of events,” said TEDxOhioUniversity organizer, Carly Leatherwood. “Our top priority is to keep our community safe throughout this rapidly evolving situation.”

About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
About TED

Videos of these talks are made available, free, on TED.com
and other platforms. Audio versions of the talks from TED2019 are published to TED's podcast TED Talks Daily
, available on all podcast platforms.
