Ohio University Trustee Cary Cooper, Esq. and President M. Duane Nellis are pleased to announce that Marion L. Candrea, CIA, CFE will join OHIO as the Chief Audit Executive effective January 14, 2021.
Candrea currently serves as the Manager of Audit and Advisory Services at Rutgers University and as a Board Member-at-Large for the Association of College and University Auditors (ACUA).
“The Office of Internal Audit is paramount to OHIO’s commitment to excellence, and we’re excited to welcome Marion Candrea to the University with her outstanding experience and industry service record,” President Nellis said. “In addition to the depth of knowledge she brings to the role, she also brings a level of collaboration and innovation that will undoubtedly drive our University commitments.”
Candrea is a graduate of The College of New Jersey and is both a Certified Internal Auditor and Certified Fraud Examiner. Candrea also brings more than a decade of higher education internal audit experience, leadership, and accounting experience to the Chief Audit Executive role. In addition, Candrea has demonstrated service and leadership for several years through her non-profit board work and her various leadership roles with ACUA, which earned Candrea the 2017 ACUA Rising Star Award.

The search committee for Ohio University’s Chief Audit Executive was announced in September 2020 following the departure of Jeffrey Davis from the role.
