Criteria for selection include:
- Positive attitude and serving as a role model;
- Productivity and commitment to quality;
- Initiative and taking on additional responsibilities
Morrison was nominated by Susie Schroer. The following is a sample of the comments made about Morrison in the nomination:
“Anne is an incredibly hard worker. While learning her new position, she also took the time to help train me in the new roles I would be taking on during the administrative structure changes. Her help, patience and knowledge are invaluable.”
“Anne is always kind, patient, knowledgeable and eager to find solutions for the department as a whole to reach success. She often goes unnoticed, but I can’t imagine the College of Arts and Sciences and/or the Psychology Department being able to function in an effective manner without her.”
Morrison recently answered some get-to-know you questions:
How long have you worked at your job?
I began working in the Psychology Department in June 2001; I have been on the team in the College of Arts & Sciences since last July.
What are the most enjoyable things about your job?
I have always been very fortunate to have wonderful coworkers. Working with a group of people who want to see each other succeed and consider each other friends is a situation few people are lucky enough to have.
If you weren’t in your present job, you would be working as a ___?
I would say a dog trainer, but I do that too!
What hobbies or interests do you enjoy pursuing when you’re not at work?
Well, obviously, dog training. I have trained and shown competitively since 2005 and owned my training business for seven years. I also have a son who plays for Athens Youth Hockey and we really enjoy that in the winter.
What is something that most people don’t know about you?
I have been invited to compete at the Westminster dog show and have had the No. 1 ranked German Shepherd in the country.
What is your favorite saying or quote?
“I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. Twenty-six times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.”
