Classified Senate has named Rhonda Wallace, administrative specialist for the departments of Primary Care and Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine in the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, the Employee of the Month for October 2020.
This recognition is Classified Senate’s way of awarding those employees who have shown outstanding individual achievement and performance of their jobs, while inspiring and supporting the achievement of others.
Criteria for selection include:
- Positive attitude and serving as a role model;
- Productivity and commitment to quality;
- Initiative and taking on additional responsibilities
Wallace was nominated by Marilyn Maher and Shawn Kerger with additional details from Michelle Bobo. The following is a sample of the comments made about Wallace in the nomination:
“Rhonda Wallace has been a rock-solid assistant for our department for years now—she assists in all aspects of the functioning of our department (from faculty needs to student education projects to university issues, and all things in between), and keeps this particular herd of cats pulling in the same direction ... which by itself deserves an award. She was also instrumental in our execution of a mid-year COVID course adaptation—our curriculum being heavily and necessarily hands-on was of particular difficulty and much had to be adapted and rescheduled. She has done all this with amazingly positive, can-do attitude and a persistent smile.”
“Rhonda handles herself in a professional and friendly manner with faculty, staff and students. She is always willing to take on new responsibilities and provide assistance to others with their workload when needed. Faculty often comment on her high level of accuracy, timeliness and work productivity. Rhonda attended workshops and trainings on Drupal in order to update and maintain the Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine departmental website. She has also completed training on the new software system, eMedley, that the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine uses for teaching schedules. Her presence in the Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine department has been very positive and she has developed good working relationships with staff from other departments that work with Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine frequently.”
