Supplemental Instruction transitions from online to in-person

Ohio University’s Academic Achievement Center will transition Supplemental Instruction (SI) from online to in-person beginning February 14. Students enrolled in a course with SI at a regional campus and students unable to attend in person due to quarantine may request a link to join online directly from the SI Leader of their class.

SI is a series of weekly study sessions for students taking historically difficult courses. SI sessions are facilitated by students (SI Leaders) who have already taken and done well in the course.

“We’re excited to be able to provide face to face Supplemental Instruction session for OHIO students again,” said Director of Academic Assistance Elizabeth Fallon. “Students who seek academic assistance perform better in their classes and retain more information. Although some students may thrive with online academic assistance, others may need the connection in-person sessions can provide.”

In addition to SI, students can access one-on-one peer tutoring, academic coaching, and writing support through the Academic Achievement Center. All services are free to Ohio University students. Find the SI course list and schedule at www.ohio.edu/si
