The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive on Ohio University’s Athens campus on Friday, July 22, and is looking for donors.
Everyone who donates will be helping with an urgent need, and they will also receive a special gift.
All Ohio University, students, faculty, staff and community members are invited to take part in the blood drive, which will be held in the Baker University Center Room 240/242 from noon to 6 p.m.
“We are currently in an urgent need for donors and are working to prevent a blood shortage in the upcoming months,” said Jordan Staley, account manager for the American Red Cross for Athens and Morgan counties.
Individuals who would like to donate are asked to make an appointment at redcrossblood.org/donate (zip code: 45701).
Walk-ins are also welcome, but individuals who walk in without first scheduling an appointment generally have a longer wait time to donate.
Everyone who donates on July 22 will receive a Shark Week t-shirt, courtesy of the Discovery Channel, and a tote bag from the American Red Cross.
