The OHIO Business Service Center (OHIO BSC) has announced that multiple areas will be joining this initiative in July.
The Office of Information Technology, University Libraries, University College, OHIO Online, and Housing and Residence Life began moving their procurement operations to the service center on July 5.
Human resources work for Scripps College of Communication, WOUB Center for Public Media, University Libraries, University College, and Housing and Residence Life will also move to the OHIO BSC.
“We are still working on some of the details, but I am incredibly grateful for our peers to see the value of the work being done and committing to be part of the vision of improving services across campus,” said Heather Krugman, executive director of the OHIO BSC.
“The center has been making great strides not only in converting units into the initiative but also in process improvement,” Krugman explained. “We have improved over 20 processes in the past 6 months and are starting to create the technology foundation that will move us forward. I’m excited to engage with constituents this fall on the improvements done to date and what else can be accomplished to provide better services at Ohio University.”
Other units to move to the service center this past year include Honors Tutorial College and Scripps College of Communication (procurement). The College of Arts and Sciences has announced its transition and will likely convert late summer.
OHIO’s Business Service Center was established to help ensure consistent, simplified, high-quality administrative services in support of the academic mission, including but not limited to travel and expense reimbursement, purchase of supplies and equipment, billing and human resources services.
