The Faculty Advisory Board of the Margaret Boyd Scholars Program (MBSP) is seeking new members to join this important organization.
The board is comprised of current Ohio University faculty and staff members who attend monthly advisory board and scholar meetings, as well as an annual retreat with new scholars. In addition, the board members participate in teaching, mentorship and other programs.
The MBSP provides diverse undergraduate students with intentional experiences which build skills and encourage self-reflection. The MBSP cultivates curious scholars who pursue knowledge, delight in discovery, champion equity and engage in community to advance female scholarship.
Named in honor of Margaret Boyd, Ohio University's first female graduate (of the class of 1873) the MBSP seeks to inspire and encourage undergraduate students to become engaged, confident and connected leaders at Ohio University and beyond.
Students are selected as Boyd Scholars in the fall semester of their first year. The four-year program includes a first-year seminar, a second-year residential component, a third-year internship experience and a fourth-year capstone seminar.
