Erica Adzimah is a passionate sustainability advocate with extensive experience in social programs for marginalized and displaced communities. Erica holds two Master’s degrees—one in Educational Administration and Management from Ghana, another in Communication and Development Studies, and a certificate in Development Practice from Ohio University.
Her research interest focuses on the role communication ecologies play in the reproduction of poverty and inequalities. She is interested in the consequences of these not only for the individuals but also for the organisations and communities in which these individuals are embedded. She is particularly focused on using insights from research to improve educational, health, and environmental outcomes. With a keen interest in grassroots organizing, culture-centred approaches, and collective sense-making, Erica focuses on enhancing social interventions in impoverished rural and urban communities to promote equality.
Outside of her academic pursuits, Erica is deeply committed to her community. She volunteers her time and skills to support local organizations and initiatives.
