Official Biography
Major Bo Olsen is a native of Monmouth Beach, NJ and was commissioned though the United States Military Academy in 2008 as an Armor Officer.
His civilian and military education includes: a Bachelor’s in Management (USMA 2008), a Master’s Degree in Executive Leadership (Liberty University), Armor Officer Basic Course, Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, Command and General Staff Officer College, Airborne School, Army Reconnaissance Course, Ranger School, Reconnaissance and Surveillance Leader’s Course, Jumpmaster School, Pathfinder School, Cavalry Leader’s Course, Joint Firepower Course, and Combatives Level 1.
MAJ Olsen’s assignments include Dismounted Reconnaissance Platoon Leader, Mounted Reconnaissance Troop Executive Officer, and Assistant Operation’s Officer, 1-73 CAV, 2-82 ABN, Fort Liberty, NC; Brigade Assistant Operations Officer, Charlie Troop Commander, and HHT Commander, 1-3 ID, Fort Stewart, GA; Reconnaissance Troop OC/T, Cobra Team, Fort Irwin, CA; Division Chief of Training, Squadron S3, and Brigade S3, 1CD, Fort Cavazos, TX.
His awards and decorations include Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2OLC), Army Commendation Medal (4OLC), Army Achievement Medal, Meritorius Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Ranger Tab, Pathfinder Badge, and Senior Parachutist Badge. His foreign decorations include the Egyptian Parachutist Badge and the German Parachutist Badge.
