Environmental Communication & Environmental Justice
Felipe Varela Muriel is an Ecuadorian biologist passionate for documentary filmmaking, environmental research, and the relationships that people have with their natural environment. By the experience working directly with the principal actors in rural communities, his interest is to explore the socio-cultural links with nature.
His capstone project is focused to explore the socio-cultural development of the chakras (field crops) and water systems, and the mingas (community’s mutual work) in a rural community at the south region of Ecuador.
