
The Center for Intervention Research in Schools (CIRS) is made up of Ohio University faculty, staff and students who are dedicated to improving the lives of children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral problems through school-based interventions and supports. The CIRS team strives to conducts cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research, provides training experiential learning opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students, and offers quality services to children, families and schools.

Congratulations!
- Dr. Julie Owens was selected as the recipient of the 2024 School Mental Health Research Award. This is a national award given an individual who has made impactful and outstanding contributions to the field of school mental health.

- Daniel Vitucci has received Honorable mention and funding for his dissertation in response to his submission to the Society for Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology (SCCAP; APA Division 53) Donald Routh Dissertation Grant. They noted that he submitted an “outstanding proposal – as evaluated by experts in the field – in this year’s extremely competitive application cycle.” His photo will appear on the D53 webpage and in the D53 newsletter. Upcoming Events
- CIRS faculty and students will present new research at the 2024 convention for the National Association for School Psychologists in the new year.
- CIRS faculty will be interviewing graduate student applicants January 31st and February 7th.
- CIRS undergraduates and graduate students will present their research at the Ohio University Research EXPO on April 8, 2025, at the Walter Fieldhouse.
