UHV-STM
Project is headed by Dr. Saw Hla. Two liquid-He-cooled low- temperature (LT) ultra-high-vacuum scanning-tunneling-microscope UHV-STM systems capable of performing cutting-edge single atom/molecule manipulation procedures are currently in full operation.
Sample holder:STM Sample holder made of oxygen free copper and gold plated to resist oxidation. Sample holder holds single crystal and MBE grown samples.
Manipulator arm:Custom make manipulator arm that has the ability to extent the sample 2 inches to reach into UHV-LT-STM.
Sample transfer fork:Custom made transfer fork give the user the ability to transfer the MBE grown sample, into a separate laboratory.
