The IT Service Desk offers many ways to get assistance. View the ways to get in touch below or on the  Technology Help Center  home page. So we can best assist you, please include as much detail as possible (ex: what device you are using, screenshots if applicable, your operating system such as Windows/Mac, etc.).

  • Submit a help ticket

    Submit a ticket about your issue, and one of our tech experts will reach out soon via your OHIO email. You can also email ServiceDesk@ohio.edu , but submitting a ticket will help your issue get routed to the right people faster.

    Chat with  Rufus the CatBot . Describe your tech problem, and the chat bot will suggest resources to solve it. You can also connect to a live agent when available. On the Technology Help Center home page , select the speech bubble icon to start chatting!

In addition to providing service desk contact information, The Technology Help Center  (help.ohio.edu) also hosts OIT's:

  • Knowledge Base  – A searchable resource for all technology help content.  
  • Service Catalog – An inventory of all the services and technologies that OHIO offers. 

You can use the  search bar on the home page  or browse content by category.  

Common problems 

Below are solutions to common technology questions and problems. 

A webpage isn't loading correctly.

Try  clearing your browser cache  and reloading the page. This oftentimes resolves the issue. 

My technology isn't working correctly.

Many problems can be resolved by updating your device or software. Check your settings to make sure everything is up-to-date. 

How do I enroll in multi-factor authentication (MFA)?

View the Knowledge Base article Enrolling in Azure MFA for instructions. The free Microsoft Authenticator smartphone app is the preferred way to authenticate, but you can also configure authentication via a phone call or text message (SMS).

How do I access my OHIO email?

You can access your OHIO email by downloading the Outlook application and entering your login credentials (your OHIO email and password). View the link to download Outlook on the Software and mobile apps page.

You can also access your email in a web browser at catmail.ohio.edu. 

How do I download Office 365?

Microsoft Office apps like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are provided at no additional cost to students. View instructions for downloading the desktop apps or accessing the web-based versions on our  Software and mobile apps page.
