Community Standard Letters and Communication
The Office of Community Standards and Student Responsibility (CSSR) utilizes Maxient to send communication to students for many different matters. Maxient is the official software used by CSSR. CSSR will also send a text message when communication is sent if possible.
To access your communication, you will need to use your PID, including the P, to retrieve the communication per the instructions in your email. If you would like to confirm the validity of the email communication you received, you may give CSSR at phone call at 740-593-2629 and a staff member will assist you.
Community Standards Conference (CSC)
Student conduct scheduling letters are sent after CSSR has reviewed an alleged incident and determined if there is a possible Student Code of Conduct violation. CSSR staff review the student's schedule and schedule a meeting for the student to meet with their assigned hearing officer when the student is not in class. Meetings are scheduled Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm Eastern Standard Time (EST).
The CSC is the opportunity for the student to share with staff their perspective of the reported incident. Please note that if a student does not attend their CSC, a decision may be made in absentia based on the information available to the hearing officer.
If a student has been scheduled for a CSC and there is a time conflict, students are encouraged to call CSSR at 740-593-2629 and staff will work with the student to reschedule.
Witness Meeting
Witness meetings are scheduled with individuals who may have some additional knowledge pertaining to an alleged Student Code of Conduct violation. CSSR staff review the student's schedule and schedule a meeting for the student to meet with staff when the student is not in class. Meetings are scheduled Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm Eastern Standard Time (EST).
If a student has a conflict for their scheduled meeting time, students are encouraged to call CSSR at 740-593-2629 and staff will work with the student to reschedule.
No Contact Directive
A no contact directive is an administrative directive between two or more students. Students who receive a no-contact directive are to have no contact- either directly or indirectly, physical, verbal or via the internet with the other involved students. Direct contact includes, but is not limited to, attempting to engage in conversation in person, by email, text message or other similar means of communication.
Not Currently Enrolled
Students who are not currently enrolled but were enrolled at the time of an alleged Student Code of Conduct violation will receive a not currently enrolled letter. Additionally, a hold will be placed on a student's account until the unresolved matter with CSSR is resolved. Students who have received a not currently enrolled letter are encouraged to call CSSR at 740-593-2629.
Notification of Reports
Students may receive a notification or report for a first-time, low-level Housing and Residence Life handbook violation, or for first-time cases of Academic Misconduct at the discretion of the reporting faculty member.
