Create an Employer Account
New to Handshake? Before you can post jobs, sign up for career fairs, and connect with candidates, you'll need to create a Handshake employer account and connect with OHIO ( view instructions ). Please include a functioning website and email addresses that match your company domain on your Handshake company profile. Career Services will review your request within 2-3 business days. Please review our recruiting guidelines prior to creating your account.
Join an Existing Company Account
Already on Handshake? Multiple employees from your organization can connect with your company on Handshake by following the account creation process . The owner of the company account on Handshake must approve requests from teammates to join. For more information, please view Managing Teammates .
Post a Job
After your company has been approved to recruit at Ohio University, you will be able to post jobs by following the instructions . Please allow 2-3 business days for Career Services to review your posting.

Below is an explanation of interviewing terms and schedules.
- Room Only Interview: Use this option if you just want to reserve a room and you’ll manage your interview schedule outside of Handshake.
- Preselect and Preselect to Alternative: These options allow you to manage your interview schedule in Handshake. With the preselect option, any candidates who meet qualifications, as well as manually approved applicants, are allowed to take slots. With the preselect to alternative option, you will select primary and alternative candidates after the application period has ended. Primaries are allowed to sign up before alternates.
