First Year Experiences

It's your time to explore and discover new opportunities.

• Make connections in your Learning Community .
• Join a student organization , and don’t forget the organizations associated with your major.

Sophomore Year Experiences

You know the campus. Deepen your engagement. Explore opportunities within your major or select a major.

• Network, make connections off-campus through Bobcat Network . Engage with Bobcat Alumni to network, explore career fields associated with your major.  Sign up for the Meal with a Mentor program, and make meaningful connections with OHIO alumni and professionals in your desired career field or academic major (sign-up details forthcoming).
• Take on a leadership role within a student organization associated with your major or other leadership opportunities on campus.
• Explore study away opportunities, within and outside of the USA. Study away for a semester, part of a summer, over winter or spring break. Consult your Success Advisor on timing within your Graduation Plan.
• Participate in a Financial Literacy workshop, to learn more about saving for off-campus housing, experiential learning opportunities, and more!
• Connect with a Career Coach . Do not wait until you are about to graduate to take advantage of this resource.
• Explore on-campus student employment options and work on your core competencies to be better prepared to launch into a future career.
• Meet with your faculty mentor (spring semester).
• Create and update your professional materials, Career Services is a great resource.
• Complete the Sophomore Engagement Survey, watch your OHIO email after spring break.

Junior Year Experiences

Lock in to your major and identify potential career paths you want to pursue after graduation.

• Network, make connections off-campus through Bobcat Network . Engage with Bobcat Alumni to network, explore career fields associated with your major.  Sign up for the Meal with a Mentor program, and make meaningful connections with OHIO alumni and professionals in your desired career field or academic major (sign-up details forthcoming).
• Gain experience with an internship, check out the Career and Internship fair .
• Reconnect with your faculty mentor.
• Research and create a plan after you graduate.
• Engage in a study away experience, consult your Success Advisor regarding alignment in your Graduation Plan.
• Network, make connections off-campus through Bobcat Network . Engage with Bobcat Alumni to network, explore career fields associated with your major.
• Check that you are ready for graduation .

Senior Year Experiences

Finish strong — continue to deepen your Bobcat experiences that will prepare you to launch after you graduate.

• Apply for graduation .

• Prep for interviews and attend career fairs .
• Complete financial aid exit counseling.
• Complete the Senior Involvement Survey, watch your email.
