Certificate programs are open to all students pursuing baccalaureate programs at the university, regardless of college or major. These interdisciplinary programs can complement a major, broaden career possibilities, or allow a student to study an area of interest from a variety of perspectives.
The History Department contributes to several certificate programs offered at Ohio University. History majors and others should be aware that by taking History courses they can also work toward completing the requirements of one or more certificate programs. Once all program requirements are completed, a student will be awarded the certificate and receive official recognition on his or her transcript upon graduation. To enroll in a program, students need to contact the sponsoring college to obtain a form or application. The college will enter a student's certificate information onto his or her record.
