Cary Roberts Frith to serve extended appointment as interim dean of the Honors Tutorial College

Ohio University President M. Duane Nellis has announced the extended appointment of Cary Roberts Frith as interim dean of the Honors Tutorial College through June 30, 2019.

Prior to her appointment as interim dean, Frith served as the associate dean and chief administrative and financial officer for the Honors Tutorial College and will return to that position after her interim appointment is complete.

“I have been incredibly impressed by Cary’s leadership of the Honors Tutorial College as interim dean and am grateful for her willingness to continue in this role until a comprehensive search for a new dean is complete,” President Nellis said. “The Honors Tutorial College and its programs play an important role as a hallmark for engaged learning at OHIO and I’m confident in Cary’s ability to lead in this effort as we expand our honors experiences and opportunities for students.”

Frith was appointed interim dean in June 2017 after previous HTC dean Jeremy Webster’s appointment as dean of OHIO’s Zanesville Campus. She joined the Honors Tutorial College in 2012 from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism faculty where she served as a frequent HTC tutor and thesis advisor. A national search is planned in 2019 to identify a new dean.
