The Ohio University Research Division invites undergraduate, graduate and medical students to apply for a Student Enhancement Award , noting that additional funding has been added to the award this year.
Student Enhancement Awards are competitive awards that support student research, scholarship or creative activities under the guidance of a faculty or staff mentor or advisor.
Awards of up to $6,000 can be used to support direct project costs, such as supplies, materials, and research-related travel. The program also funds travel for the student to disseminate their projects at conferences, exhibits or performances.
There is one review cycle in spring, and the deadline for applying is Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022, at 4 p.m.
All full-time students on any campus and in any degree program are eligible, but a student may receive only one award per degree program while enrolled at Ohio University.
This year, additional funding has been allocated by the Office of Global Affairs to support international research and creative activity. The award aims to increase opportunities for students to conduct research projects or creative activities abroad as part of their thesis, dissertation, or capstone projects.
“OHIO values global engagement and discovery. The last few years have been extremely challenging to be engaged with international activities in person due to the pandemic. The Office of Global Affairs is proud to support and champion future leaders through this opportunity and to build global connections and competencies during their academic career as Bobcats,” Dr. Ji-Yeung Jang, interim executive director for Global Affairs , said. "This funding will provide critical assistance to those who are willing to go the extra miles in search of global knowledge and excellence.”
