OHIO’s Diverse Faculty Mentoring Program reimagined and relaunched

In Fall 2022, OHIO’s Division of Diversity and Inclusion , in collaboration with the Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost, will relaunch the Diverse Faculty Mentoring Program (DFMP), designed to help diverse tenure track, instructional, and clinical faculty acclimate to OHIO, develop mentoring networks, and access professional support.

Over the course of the academic year, mentees and mentors will have the opportunity to connect and collaborate in a confidential, respectful, and continuous relationship.

The program will offer a professional development series and personalized mentoring circles. The session topics will address research, teaching, service, student mentoring, intercultural competence, conference and grant opportunities, life in Athens, work-life balance, and networking, all to support the trajectories of new diverse faculty.

The Diverse Faculty Mentoring Program is open to any full-time tenure track, instructional, or clinical faculty who are new to OHIO since Fall 2019. The program is also looking for senior faculty members to serve as mentors. DFMP mentees and mentors will have access to professional development funds or mini-grants to support research projects, conference participation, and community outreach initiatives. 

The 2022 – 2023 program will be led by Dr. Dwan Robinson (Associate Professor, Educational Studies).  

The deadline to sign up for the 2022 – 2023 DFMP program is Friday, Sept. 23, at 5 p.m.
