Ohio University announces Halloween weekend parking restrictions

Due to the potential of a large number of visitors coming to Ohio University’s Athens Campus for the Oct. 28-29 weekend, Transportation and Parking Services will begin implementing parking restrictions on Saturday, Oct. 28.

Athens Campus parking lots will be closed for public parking between 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, and 7 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29. During this time period, parking access will only be provided to currently enrolled students and OHIO employees who hold an active/valid campus parking permit approved for use during fall semester.

Vehicles parked in campus parking lots without a valid parking permit will be subject to violation. The minimum violation amount is $150. Citations issued during this time period will not be eligible for void or reduction.

In addition, visitor, vendor and contract permits will not be honored during this time. If an OHIO department will be hosting a visitor or an event that requires parking for official University business, that department is asked to contact Transportation and Parking Services at tps@ohio.edu no later than Wednesday, Oct. 25, to request parking support.

Parking meters and pay-by-space locations

For those utilizing short-term or hourly parking, pay-by-hour parking will be available at any campus meter or pay-by-space surface lot, such as Lot 122 Baker Surface, Lot 87 Ping Center and Lot 134 Walter Hall. Vehicles parked at an expired or unpaid meter or hourly space are subject to violation.
