Ohio University will be holding a donation drive to support international students on Aug.19 and 20.
All donations will be collected and provided to international students in need.
Donations will be accepted at Parks Hall, located at 24 West Green Drive, off Richland Avenue and near the Convocation Center, on Monday, Aug. 19, and Tuesday Aug. 20, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Donation drive representatives will be stationed outside of Parks Hall. Items that are especially needed by many incoming international students moving to Ohio University include:
- Kitchen appliances such as microwaves, toaster ovens, blenders, crockpots and rice cookers.
- Kitchen accessories such as food containers, cutting boards, serving bowls, measuring cups and cooking/serving utensils.
- Dishes and cutlery.
- Household items such as basic tools, fans, brooms, laundry baskets and trash cans.
- Textiles such as curtains, rugs, winter coats and winter hats/gloves.
- Furniture items such as side tables, desks and lamps.
The donation program is being coordinated by International Student and Scholar Services , Rural Action and the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Service . Questions about the donation drive can be sent to cahilld@ohio.edu .
