  • Collins Center

    Collins Center on Southern Campus

    Current Use

    The Collins Center houses the Office of Student Services , Southern Campus Library , Bowman Auditorium and food services.

    History

    The Collins Center was the first structure completed on the Ohio University Southern campus in 1985. It was named after 1935 alumnus Oakley C. Collins, a former schoolteacher and member of the Ohio Senate and Ohio House of Representatives.

  • Academic Center

    Current Use

    The Academic Center houses the Nursing department, science labs, classrooms and information technology offices.

    History

    Built in 1990, the Academic Center was the second building constructed on the Ohio University Southern campus. It’s a federal-style, two-story brick structure housing 13 classrooms and computer labs.

  • Dingus Technology Center

    Current Use

    The Dingus Technology Center houses a nursing lab, computer labs, classrooms, art gallery and the 120-seat Spriggs Auditorium.

    History

    Named in honor of Ohio University Southern dean and alumnus Bill W. Dingus, The Dingus Technology Center was opened in 2000. Dingus provided the vision for the growth and development of the Southern campus from 1976 to 2000.

  • Verne Riffe Center

    Verne Riffe Center on the OHIO Southern Campus

    Current Use

    The Verne Riffe Center houses Education and Electronic Media departments, classrooms, administrative offices and the Mains Rotunda.

    History

    The Verne Riffe Center opened in 1995 and was named after Vernal G. Riffe Jr., the longest-serving Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives and an important voice for education for Lawrence County and beyond.
