Angell, Thomas
Biographical note
Thomas G. Angell was born on February 1, 1831 to Richard and Mary Angell in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. At age 11 he came to Lodi Township in Athens County, Ohio where he grew up on a farm and went to a common school. He married Mary Phillips on March 8, 1856 and together they had three children - Lydian M., Emma F., and Elmer G. During the Civil War Angell was First Lieutenant of the 141st Ohio Infantry. Most of his life he was a farmer and owned a farm of 380 acres. His farming specialty was raising Spanish merino sheep. He was a member of Athens Lode, No. 25, A.F. & A.M.
