Scope and Contents

Training and Curriculum Development Unit (TDCU) contains records from a grant-funded training program supported by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS.) the program offered courses to ODJFS employees so they could upgrade their skills, earn or maintain licenses and certifications, and learn about the latest advances and research in their career fields. The program offered tuition reimbursement and developed non-credit job-related curriculum. Ohio University operated the program for eleven years beginning in 1996 with Steve Flaherty as the Executive Director. Before that, the program was operated through Hocking College. An earlier name of the program was Training Opportunities for Program Staff (TOPS), and it was supported by the Department of Human Services, which later became the ODJFS. Records include correspondence, training materials, videotapes, and organizational charts.
