Knisely-Varner Letters Supplement
Scope and Content
The collection was donated by Orson Knisely (OK) and Bernice Varner Knisely (BVK)'s daughter, Barbara Gaeddert, who had summarized and indexed the materials. The materials are separated by author and then organized chronologically. This is a supplement to the Orson Knisely and Bernice Varner Collection, which mainly contains letters. This collection gives biographical information about the two and provides a context for the letters. There are newspaper clippings, event programs, music, essays, and greeting cards in the folders.

Biography of Orson Knisely and Bernice Varner
Orson Knisely (OK) and Bernice Varner Knisely (BVK) were students at Ohio University (OU). They began dating in the early 1930s and were married in 1935.
OK was born February 25, 1911 in Sandusky, Ohio. He graduated from the Sandusky public school system in 1929, before coming to OU, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Dramatics, with a minor in Education.
BVK graduated with a BS in Education from Bowling Green State University after transferring there from OU. She became employed as a Special Education teacher.
