The International Molders and Allied Workers Union, Local 395 records are comprised of agreements, correspondence, grievances, warning sheets, and Safety Committee Meeting minutes.
The agreements between Local 395 and the Burnham Boiler Corporation of Zanesville exist for the years 1943-1979. The correspondence file is small and sporadically covers the years 1963-1971. The grievances of the workers against the Burnham Boiler Corporation extend from 1960-1974. The warning sheets from the company to the workers are few. The minutes of the Safety Committee Meetings are fairly complete from 1955-1971, and detail the efforts of the committee to provide for safety on the job. Several undated newspaper clippings are included in the file regarding the signing of a contract between Local 395 and the Burnham Boiler Corporation.

The International Molders and Allied Workers Union, Local
395, based in Zanesville, Ohio, was chartered on October 5, 1942. It represents workers in the glass, molders, plastics, pottery, cast metals, fiberglass, defense, fine china, glass and plastic containers, insulation and sanitary-ware industries as well as workers in government, healthcare The union was originally called the International Molders and Foundry Workers Union. It is affiliated with the AFL-CIO. The union's current name is the Glass, Molders, Pottery, Plastics & Allied Workers International Union.

Acquisition Information
The Ohio University Archives received the collection as a donation from Al Lackney, President of Local 395, in July 1980. It was acquired as part of the Ohio Labor History Project.
