John (Jack) Baldwin personal papers
Scope and Content
The John (Jack) Baldwin (JB) personal papers span from around 1940 to 1987 and document JB's time as a student, artist and professor. The collection covers JB's pre-WWII student days; his time abroad, especially in India, during the war; his years spent studying and teaching in Mexico; and his subsequent career, including his years as an Ohio University professor of art.
The collection is housed in one Hollinger, one half-Hollinger, one 11 1/2" x 17" flat box, and one 16" x 20" flat box. The collection originally consisted of Boxes One, Two and Three, plus a supplemental fourth box. The boxes have been renumbered 1 of 4 through 4 of 4. The contents of all four boxes had been previously inventoried and described. For this reason, the contents have been left in their original arrangements, with the exception of the creation of Box One, Folder 1A and the renumbering of Box One, Folder 1B (originally "Folder 1"). The numberings and notations on all folders have also been revised to conform to current practice.
Contents of John Baldwin’s technical notebook. Note: the materials contained within box 2 were all kept in a standard, black cardboard, three ring binder. All materials have been organized in the same order as they appeared in the notebook.
