Marius P. Garofalo Collection on World War II
Scope and Content
The Marius P. Garofalo (MPG) collection on World War II documents the Pacific theater of Operations. The collection seems to focus on the end of the war and the post war occupation. The collection includes USO promotional materials regarding Hawaii, service newspapers and magazines, transcripts of the Japanese surrender, and personal artifacts of MPG's from the occupation of Japan and time served with the Army Air Corps.

Biography of Marius P. Garofalo
Marius P. Garofalo served in the United States Army Air Corp. in the Pacific during and after the World War II. He graduated from Ohio University in 1947 with a Bachelor's degree in education, and received an MA and PhD from Ohio State University in 1948 and 1958 respectively. At Ohio State University he met his wife Jane Garofalo (nee Webster) and they married in 1956.
